Dr. Offutt is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained in glaucoma. Dr. Offutt provides comprehensive ophthalmology services including state of the art cataract surgery, glaucoma laser treatment, and glaucoma surgery.

Background & Achievements

Dr. Offutt is a native of San Antonio. After graduating from Texas Christian University, Dr. Offutt completed his medical degree and ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health at San Antonio. Dr. Offutt went on to complete a fellowship in medical and surgical glaucoma at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. After his training, he practiced in Chicago before returning to San Antonio to join Eye Associates.

Dr. Offutt has participated in a humanitarian mission trip to Honduras, where he performed extra-capsular cataract surgery. He is experienced in a variety of specialty lenses for cataract surgery including multifocal and toric intraocular implants. During his glaucoma fellowship, Dr. Offutt participated in over 500 procedures including tube shunt insertions, trabeculectomies, microinvasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), and cataract surgeries.  A frequent motto that Dr. Offutt practices is “less is more”, and with this in mind, he advocates for non-invasive methods of vision correction and intraocular pressure control such as medical therapy and laser technology when appropriate.  Dr. Offutt believes in the value of educating patients so they can further understand their health conditions and maximize their quality of life.

Dr. Offutt is married to his wife Madeline, and they have a Cockapoo named Winnie. He enjoys watching sports, particularly college football and European soccer.  He enjoys running, swimming, biking and golfing.
